Mississippi Munchies: Duck Poppers & Tamales | Bizarre Foods With Andrew Zimmern

Andrew follows Mark Twain down the Mississippi River for a true slice of America. The Mississippi River is a massive ecosystem of incredible breadth and depth. Andrew enjoys a duck feast with local Hank before setting off on their river adventure. The pair enjoy jalapeno duck poppers, wood duck breasts, and seared mallard. Heading downriver to Greenville, Mississippi, Andrew hits an unassuming hole-in-the-wall known for some of the most famous tamales and steaks around. Nearly 80 years ago, Dominick 'Big Doe' Signa opened Doe's Eat Place, and it has been in the family ever since. Big Doe's grandsons Baby Doe and Little Charles now run the joint, staying true to the time-honored family tamale recipe of cooking their cornmeal in beef fat. Andrew tries his hand at rolling the tamales with the long-time rollers (who put him to shame) before learning how to execute the perfect salad from Aunt Flo - the 90-year-old heart and soul of the place. And perhaps even more amazing than the quality of food at Doe's is the clientele who have feasted here -- including greats like Johnny Cash and Dolly Parton The Streaming Home of Paranormal on discovery+: https://www.discoveryplus.com/?genre=paranormal-unexplained Like Travel Channel on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/TravelChannel/ Follow Travel Channel on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/travelchannel/ Follow Travel Channel on Twitter: https://twitter.com/travelchannel Follow Travel Channel on TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@travelchannel Visit Travel Channel: http://www.travelchannel.com
