DIY Chocolate Shell Coating Recipe courtesy of Food Network Kitchen Total: 10 min Active: 5 min Yield: about 1/2 cup Level: Easy Ingredients 6 ounces semisweet chocolate, chopped into small pieces 6 tablespoons vegetable shortening or virgin or extra-virgin coconut oil 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract, optional Kosher salt Directions Melt the chocolate, shortening, vanilla and a pinch of salt in a small saucepan over medium-low heat, stirring constantly with a rubber spatula, until smooth, about 4 minutes.
