F-35 Takes First Combat Hit Over Iran? IRGC Strikes Israel Refinery After "Zero Restraint" Vow

A US F-35 fighter jet reportedly made an emergency landing at an air base in the Middle East after it was struck by what is believed to be Iranian fire. CENTCOM spokesman Capt. Tim Hawkins said the fifth-generation stealth jet was “flying a combat mission over Iran” when it was forced to make an emergency landing. “The aircraft landed safely, and the pilot is in stable condition,” Hawkins told CNN, adding “This incident is under investigation.” The incident would be the first time Iran has hit a US aircraft in the war after three F-15s were shot down over Kuwait in ‘friendly fire’. The X account of Ali Larijani posted an alleged F-35 targeting video, with a message from Iran’s security chief before his killing in an Israeli strike. Both the US and Israel are flying F-35s in the conflict and the aircraft costs upwards of $100 million.
