Andrew is in Taipei, Taiwan getting an inside look at the creation of a famous Taiwanese snack, iron eggs. Ah Po is an entrepreneur who has built a booming business producing these hard boiled eggs, re-cooked in sugar and spices until they turn hard and black. Andrew, however, has difficulty stomaching the liver-flavored treat. Later, Andrew steps into the kitchen of Din Tai Fung Dumpling House, trying his hand at making their iconic xiao long bao: steamed soup dumplings. Though his pleats aren’t the neatest, Andrew is nevertheless treated to a delicious dumpling array— pork with crab roe, green squash and shrimp, and Italian black truffle are all up for grabs!
